How this test works
A quick, honest explanation of what you're taking.
The puzzles
The test has 25 original puzzles, written for this site, in four areas: pattern recognition (3×3 grids), numerical reasoning (number sequences), verbal reasoning (word analogies) and spatial reasoning (rotations, mirror images, gears and cube nets). They start easy and get harder. You have 10 minutes.
Your score
Your score is based on how many puzzles you get right, with harder puzzles counting more. It's shown on the familiar IQ-style scale (where 100 is the middle) so it's easy to compare with friends, along with how you did in each of the four areas.
What it isn't
This is an entertainment test. It hasn't been standardized on a representative sample of the population the way clinical tests like the WAIS are, and it's much shorter. Treat your score as a fun snapshot of how you did on these puzzles today, not a measurement of your intelligence, and don't use it for school, work or medical decisions.

We store your answers and score so you can come back to your result. See the privacy policy for the details.
